LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE USING RECLAIMED AGGREGATE OF WASTE OF EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE

PURPOSE: A preparation method of lightweight concrete by using an ingot fused waste of expanded polystyrene is provided which improves compression strength. CONSTITUTION: A process for making lightweight concrete comprises: (a)a process for producing an ingot by fusing waste of expanded polystyrene with a frictional heat of 80-100°C through a miniature instrument of expanded polystyrene and extruding; b)a process for crushing the ingot in a plastic crusher mill of rotary-type; c)a process for adjusting grading of the crushed ingot where the biggest ingot is about 20 mm; d)a process for blending the ingot with cement powder, water, an additive, and silica hume for 6 min in a forced mixer. The weight of lightweight concrete by using the reclaimed aggregate of waste expanded polystyrene is reduced to 40-45%.
