Air bag assembly

The airbag (8) is positioned sidewards, on the end of a carrier (6) fastened to seat or backrest. A passenger sitting next to the carrier is given frontal protection by the airbag. The carrier is pivoted about an axis between rest and active positions. The active position is approx. parallel to an axis located between seat surface (3) and backrest surface (4). When in rest position, carrier with airbag are located inside an aperture (5) in seat or backrest. The carrier is length-adjustable, and may be locked in active position. The airbag is height-adjustable.
