PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to efficiently produce a pot shaped metal product having a neck part like a kettle, flower vase, etc., in a high yield and at a low cost. SOLUTION: A cup shaped can stock 13 is formed by subjecting a thin plate 10 made of aluminum, copper or stainless steel to deep drawing press forming. Next, the can stock 13 is formed to an intermediate formed body 18 by a press die 17 consisting of a cylindrical part 14 and a skirt shaped part 15. The intermediate formed body 18 is housed into a female die 20 having a final product shape, an opening part of the formed body 18 is fixed to a moving die 19 of a movable hydraulic forming machine, while pressurizing a fluid by a filling tube 21, the moving die 19 is descended. By this method, the material of a neck part of the intermediate body is supplied to a bulging barrel part, without causing buckling and burst, a work 22 of the pot shaped metal product having a neck part of a uniform thickness is produced.
