PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide garbage treating apparatus wherein a sufficient drying performance is provided without giving off steam and an offensive odor constituent outside, and the offensive odor does not stay inside the apparatus. SOLUTION: An adsorption dehumidifying means 5 is provided between a first heat exchanger 4 and a second heat exchanger 6, a water content and an offensive odor constituent which have been exhausted when garbage is dried in a treating container, are removed by condensation with the first heating exchanger 4, removed by adsorption with the adsorption dehumidifying means 5, and a sufficiently dried odorless gas is circulated in pipeline to the treating container to accelerate drying of the garbage.
