PURPOSE:To maintain performance approximately equal to a positive electrode by the use of conventional carbon cloth by stabilizing staple of activated carbon fiber in polyolefine-related nonwoven fabric. CONSTITUTION:As staple of activated carbon fiber, for example, phenol-related, acrylic-related, PAN-related or pitch-related fiber can be named, and preferably pitch-relate activated carbon fiber, more preferably pitch-related activated carbon fiber having fiber length of 120-150mum is used. Next, the staple of this activated carbon fiber is stabilized in polyolefine-related nonwoven fabric so as to obtain an activated layer for a positive electrode. Here, as the polyolefine- related nonwoven fabric, for example, polyethylene-related or polypropylene- related nonwoven fabric can be named, and the polyethylene-related nonwoven fabric is used as a binder for stabilizing the activated carbon fiber. Thereby, performance approximately equal to a positive electrode by the use of conventional carbon cloth can be maintained. |
