PURPOSE: To improve the well-known method and device for analyzing an original picture so that the method and device may more easily, accurately, and quickly operate. CONSTITUTION: In a method for analyzing an original picture in which the original picture is analyzed by evaluating picture values obtained by performing spot and line trichromatic scanning on the original picture by using a picture processing device and a system, the picture values in a first color space belonging to input apparatuses 1, 2, and 3 are converted into picture values (L*, a*, and b*) functionally belonging to a second color space (a reference color space, mapping conversion color space, or correlative processing color space) which does not rely upon the first color space and the analysis of the original picture for finding a setting (adjustment setting) value for one picture processing is performed by using the converted original picture values (L*, a*, and b*) in the second color space. |
