PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise a feed pipe and simultaneously feed a wire electrode at a high speed by removing mutual engagement between annealing rollers provided in a holder and feeding the wire electrode in sandwiched fashion by pressing applied by a pressing means. SOLUTION: In a holder having a head provided to be vertically moved, a pair of annealing rollers 4 and 4 are held for annealing a feed pipe through which a wire electrode 1 is inserted and the wire electrode 1, and feeding the wire electrode 1. During the rising of this holder, one annealing roller 4 is driven by a DC servo motor, and the other annealing roller 4 is pressed toward the former annealing roller 4 by an actuator 64 as a pressing means to hold the wire electrode 1. Thus, the wire electrode is fed at a high speed, and time necessary for the initial feeding of the wire electrode is further shortened.
