PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door structure which can be smoothly and quietly opened or closed unconventionally even when it is transferred on a track bent halfway. SOLUTION: This sliding door structure is provided with a head jamb 12, a sill 14, and a sliding door 16. Guide runners 20, 21 are fixed in the sliding door 16 and respective guide runners 21 are fitted in guide grooves formed on the sill 14 and the head jamb 12 to regulate the transferring direction of the sliding door 16 and shift the sliding door 16 on the track bent halfway. A sash sheave 22 is constituted of a case attached to the lower end of the sliding door 16 and ball parts contained in cases and held to be freely rotatable to unspecified directions. The door comes into contact with the sill 14 through the balls. Metallic plates 28 (or synthetic resin plate) are stuck to prevent abrasion of the sill 14 in the range where the balls of the sash sheaves 22 touch the sill at the upper face side of th sill 14.
