PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doffing device for roving frames capable of reducing the space occupied thereby except the time of doffing and also useable as a stool. SOLUTION: This doffing device 9 is formed by: providing a pole 11 vertically disposed before a roving frame 1 with a rotatable member 12; mounting a pipe replacement arm 21, capable of the forward and backward movement along the longitudinal direction to the roving frame 1, on the rotatable member 12; and setting the pipe replacement arm 21 rotatable in the range between its operating position facing a full bobbin FB and waiting position under the bobbin FB. The rotatable member 12 is provided with a stool 36 designed to take a position above the pipe replacement arm 21 lying in the waiting position. Accordingly, the doffing device 9 is made space-saving by positioning the pipe replacement arm 21 in the waiting position during no doffing, and at this time the stool 36 lies in the upward direction so that the doffing device 9 can be used as a stool.
