PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to continuously sew a hollow ring of cover stitch sewing with a simple composition under a stable condition. SOLUTION: On a needle plate 6 of a flat sewing machine which leads a double ring sewing hollow ring formed under a needle plate 6 by entanglement of the needle threads 30A, 30B and 30C of needles 3A, 3B and 3C with the looper thread of a looper 4 according to the actions of three needles 3A, 3B and 3C and the looper 4 occurring in a non-supply time of sewing cloth onto the needle plate 6 in the back of a needle dropping position, and continuously send it out while holding it between a back sending tooth in the back of the needle dropping position and a hollow ring presser foot, a thread setter 10 formed with engaging claws 10A and 10B with slopes 10A and 10B' which are orderly placed at the needle dropping positions and provided between hollow parts 6C, 6D and 6E of the needle plate 6 is provided.
