PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet print head cleaning device to be used in an ink jet printer having an ink jet head defining a plurality of orifices for ejecting ink drops. SOLUTION: A cleaning cavity 80 for accommodating a cleaning liquid is away from a printing position. An adjustable blade 53 is partially dipped in a cleaning liquid 95 and is away from a print head. A pump 83 supplies the cleaning liquid 95 to the adjustable blade 53 in a predetermined speed so that the adjustable blade 53 generates flowing of the cleaning liquid 95 that passes through a structure of the cleaning cavity 80. The adjustable blade 53 is disposed in order to generate adequate flowing of the cleaning liquid 95 interlocking with the print head.
