PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a check valve, and reduce pressure loss by arranging a valve and a coil spring in a valve casing arranged in an intake port, and ensuring an opening between the intake port and a compression chamber from a valve seat surface to a reverse electrically driven element surface of a frame. SOLUTION: In a rotary compressor wherein a rolling piston 7 is eccentrically rotated in a compression chamber 14 of a cylinder 8 by driving of an electrically driven element, a valve casing 21 having an opening part 24 for communicating a valve seat surface 17 and the compression chamber 14 with each other is arranged in an intake port 18 of the cylinder 8, and a valve 16 and a coil spring 20 is stored in the valve casing 21. The coil spring 20 is held by the valve casing 21 and a reverse electrically driven element surface of a frame 5. An opening between the intake port 18 and the compression chamber 14 is arranged from the valve seat surface 17 to the reverse electrically driven element surface of the frame 5. It is thus possible to ensure a wide flow-in passage, and it is also possible to reduce pressure loss caused by a valve 16.
