PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a soundcontrol type engine generator capable of exerting a high cooling performance using a simple structure. SOLUTION: A muffler 11 of an engine 3 is installed ahead of the engine 3 and over a generator 4 and is covered with a muffler cover 12. The rear member 14 of the muffler cover 12 serves also as a member to partition the internal space of a soundinsulation cover 7 into a space on the engine 3 side and a space on the generator 4 side. Further, the partitioned space on the engine side is put in communication with the inside of the muffler cover 12 through an opening 14a, and the cooling wind outlet 4c of the generator 4 is put in communication with the inside of the muffler cover 12. A partitioning plate 18 is installed in the space on the generator side inside the soundinsulation cover 7, and this space on the generator side is partitioned fore and aft.
