PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling box-lifting mechanism in a machine for recovering seedling boxes, capable of allowing a hood to follow not only the height of the surface of the ground but also its inclination to surely take up the seedling box. SOLUTION: This seedling box-lifting mechanism in a machine for recovering seedling boxes is provided with a mechanism frame 51 supporting a hook 52 for hooking the seedling box N developed on the surface of the ground, with attaching frames 47 for supporting the mechanism frame 51 on the side of a travel frame 9, and with the setting means for setting a height so that the hook 52 follows the surface of the ground. The setting means is provided with an actuation portion 48 for vertically moving the mechanism frame 51 in response to the surface of the ground, and with a guide portion 49 for permitting the lateral inclination of the mechanisms frame 51 and simultaneously guiding the vertical movement of the mechanism frame 51 disposed between the attaching frames 47 and the mechanism frame 51.
