PURPOSE: A parking locking device for an automatic transmission vehicle easily converted from a parking state to a running state and the impact of shift due to a miss-operation is removed. CONSTITUTION: On the driving of a vehicle, a fluid pressure is transmitted into a case(21) of an actuator(11). A piston(23) is moved by a fluid pressure acted on one side surface thereof. Then, an operating member(17) is moved. Then, a frictional force between the inner surface of a lining(9) and the outer surface of a drum(1) is removed. Then, if a selection lever is moved to a parking range, a fluid pressure in the case(21) is removed. Further, a protruded end portion in the piston(23) is moved into the case(21). Therefore, a frictional force is generated between the lining(9) and the drum(1) such that the rotation of the drum(1) is stopped.
