PURPOSE: A self testing method of a camera is provided to confirm whether a problem of the camera is occurred by an internal condition or an external condition through a certain key operation. CONSTITUTION: If the command to perform a self testing process is inputted, the speed of an electronic shutter is varied, and then whether a luminance signal is changed or not is decided. If the luminance signal is changed, the electronic shutter is normal. However, if the luminance signal is not changed, whether the value of the luminance signal exists or not is decided. If the value of the luminance signal exists, an error is occurred in an electronic shutter controlling portion. If the value of the luminance signal does not exist, the error is occurred in a video signal reading portion. After varying a gain of an amplifier, whether the luminance signal is changed is decided. If the luminance signal is changed, an automatic gain control is normal. If the luminance signal is not changed, whether the value of the luminance signal exists is decided. If the luminance signal exists, the error is occurred in a controlling portion of the automatic gain control.
