PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a resist pattern at a high speed. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of an image station provided with a photoreceptor drum and a developing means, plural exposure means forming a latent image on the photoreceptor drum a transfer means forming a synthetic image on an intermediate transfer drum 12 from the toner images of respective colors formed at the image station, a resist pattern forming means forming the resist pattern at the image station, a semiconductor laser emitting a laser light beam, lenses 27a and 27b condensing the laser light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser on the drum 12 lenses 28a and 28b condensing the laser light beam reflected from the drum 12 and photodiodes 29a and 29b detecting the laser light beam condensed by the lenses 28a and 28b. Besides it is provided with a pattern detection means 14 detecting the resist pattern transferred on the transfer means and a positional deviation correction means correcting positional deviation based on a result detected by the detection means 14.
