PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity radio comprising a simple circuit configuration and a software configuration which suppress gradation in an error rate due to fluctuation in a received electric field and to provide the diversity radio method. SOLUTION: A phase detection section 3 places restriction on amplitudes of plural reception signals received by two antennas or over to extract phase information. A synthesis section 5 provides a weight to phase information from at least one antenna, based on reception power information R2 and phase informationθ4 from the antennas and applies vector synthesis to the signals. Thus, the synthesis section 5 applies three-dimensional synthesis to the signals by using the reception power information R2, the phase informationθ4 and a phase weighting angleϕto correct at error caused by fluctuation in a reception electric field. A decoding section 7 decodes the received signal, based on synthesized phase informationθsum6 from the synthesis section 5 to obtain decoded data 8. Through the configuration above, degradation in an error rate due to fluctuation in the reception electric field is suppressed.
