PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device the luminous intensity of which can be improved by efficiently condensing the light emitted from a light emitting element mounted on a mounting substrate in the displaying direction. SOLUTION: A semiconductor light emitting device is provided with a chip LED 2 which is put in the mounting hole 1a of a mounting substrate 1 from the rear surface side of the substrate 1 so that the front surface side of the LED 2 may be faced oppositely to a picture displaying section. The LED 2 is provided with a package 5 which seals a light emitting element 4 mounted on the LED 2 in a continuity with a resin and formed in a such shape that the package 5 can be inserted into the hole 1a. In the package 5, in addition, a lens 5b which condenses the light emitted from the light emitting element 4 is provided. |
