<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for obtaining a liquid crystal display device which is wide in a visual field angle and high in aperture ratio and with which display unevenness hardly occurs by forming stripe-like rugged patterns and columnar spacers taller than the height of these rugged patterns on the substrate. SOLUTION: This substrate has the structure obtained by forming the stripe- like rugged patterns and the columnar spacers taller than the height of the rugged patterns on the substrate. When the color filter substrate is manufactured by forming black matrices and pixel patterns consisting of colored layers of three primary colors on, for example, the transparent or reflection substrate 1, then forming the stripe-like rugged patterns 2 on the pixel patterns and the columnar spacers 3 on the black matrices, the color liquid crystal display device may be produced by combining, for example, the substrate and ordinarily used thin-film transistors. At this time, the spacers 3 are arranged on the black matrices, by which the entire part of a display surface is eventually acted.</p> |
