Speech signal connection set-up circuit arrangement

The circuit arrangement includes a subscriber connection circuit (TAS) which processes signalling symbols and speech signals via which a telecommunication apparatus (TEL) is connected to a line terminating unit (LA1) of a corresponding subscriber station (TST). The subscriber connection circuit includes a coding and decoding unit (COD1,COD2) which codes speech signals and signalling symbols provided by the telecommunication apparatus to PCM signals or which decodes PCM signals to speech signals and signalling symbols. A packet and depacket unit (PAD1,PAD2) is connected to the coding and decoding unit for providing data signal packets. The line terminating unit is connected to a data network (NET) via a branching circuit (W1) and to a telecommunication network (VST) via a packet and depacket unit (PAD3,PAD4) and maybe via a decoding and coding unit (IWU) for the decoding of PCM signals to analogue speech signals and for coding of analogue speech signals to PCM signals.
