The invention relates to the use of mixtures containing (a) monoglyceride (ether) sulfates and (b) chitosan and/or chitosan derivatives in the production of oral and dental hygiene products, especially toothpaste. The preparations are characterized by high compatibility with oral mucosa, special foaming ability and stable distribution of abrasive substances.
