PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To curb the waste of a recording material at the minimum level when the recording material is choked, by monitoring the suction state by a suction state detecting means for detecting the choking of a recording material generated in supplying the recording material. SOLUTION: A recording material comprising a light sensitive material in a roll-like form is drawn by a predetermined size by a recording material drawing means, and the drawn recording material is cut by a recording material cutting means. The cut recording material is fixed on a drum 31 by suctioning by a suction means 710, and the suction fixation state is detected by a suction state detecting means 711. The detected suction fixation state of the recording material is monitored by a control part 100 for detecting the choking of a recording material generated at the time of supplying the recording material. Accordingly, the waste of a recording material can be curbed at the minimum level without drawing the recording material unnecessarily when a recording material is choked.
