PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight and the weight deviation of a driving shaft and improve the fishing operability, assembling properties and maintainability. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is obtained by forming the shape of a driving shaft 5 into a small-diameter part 5c, a large-diameter flange part 5d, a shaft part 5e and a whirl-stop part 5f and a screw part 5g in the longitudinal direction of the shaft part 5e between a flange part 5a at one end and the other end 5b, forming a hole part 5h comprising a through-hole in the longitudinal direction intersecting the whirl-stop part 5f at right angles in the shaft part 5e and further forming a screw part 5i, a whirl-stop part 5j and a hole part 5k intersecting the whirl-stop part 5j at right angles at the other end 5b. The hole part 5h comprising the through-hole can be an oil reservoir for a grease, etc. A gear 25 for reversing a clutch is fitted to the driving shaft 5 so as to stop whirling and brought into contact with the large-diameter flange part 5d of the driving shaft 5 and a friction plate 27, a driving gear 6, a frictional plate 28 and a braking plate 29 are fitted to a part between the gear 25 for reversing the clutch and an inner wheel 26 of a rolling type one-way clutch B.
