PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method and device for a wet printed output medium to extend a passively drying time before causing contact between continuously discharged media. SOLUTION: To a medium handling device 20 for supporting a medium discharged from an output port of a printer, a drying time is given before a new medium is discharged onto an output tray. The device receives the discharged medium at its edge on the predetermined side. Extending grooves 205 of a set of guides 207, 208 allow the medium to be bent for hardening along the axis of its flow so that the medium can be supported even at the single edge. When the rear edge of the medium being moving forward is discharged from the output port, the lower guide 208 is pulled therein to cause the medium to drop on an output medium stack of the output tray with its gravitation.
