PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly wind up a sheet material without causing any irregular winding in a sheet roll in conveyance. SOLUTION: This sheet material winding device constructed for winding a sheet material 4 into a roll by rotationally driving a winding shaft 3 is provided with a touch roll 5 pressed to the sheet material 4 wound on the winding shaft 3. A pressing force of the touch roll 5 is kept constant or varied according to increase of a winding diameter D of the sheet material 4 wound on the winding shaft 3.
