PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress relative sliding motion of the contact portions of the hulls of a pusher boat and a pusher barge roped together for pushing, lessen the burden on the ropes and improve the resistance of the pushing system to waves. SOLUTION: A boat 1 has at its stem a fixed rod 12, to which a pad 10 is rotatably attached via a coupling 17. With a frontal rubber plate 11 of the pad 10 pressed against a stern board 8 of a barge 3, the hulls are connected together via ropes 9. Even when the hulls pitch and roll, the rubber plate 11 thus locked to the barge stern board 8 under pressure is kept intact or locked by the pad 10 that is allowed to rotate and absorb angular displacement, so that both hulls are made less liable to pitch and roll.
