PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spinning reel for fishing capable of preventing the generation of a backlash to prevent the entanglement of a fishing line on the spool and increasing the casting distance by dividing a line roller into the right and left side walls and supporting, engaging and forcing the side walls by specific methods. SOLUTION: A fishing line is wound on the line-winding part of a spool 8 placed at the front part of the reel main body while guiding the line with a line roller 16 and the line wound on the line-winding part of the spool 8 is paid out by disengaging the line from the line roller 16. In the spinning reel for fishing having the above construction, the line roller 16 is divided into the right and left side wall parts 16a, 16b, both wall parts 16a, 16b are rotatably supported on the same axis, engaged with each other in a state to overlap the divided end faces 17a, 17b and elastically forced with a forcing means 23 to constrict the gap between the divided end faces 17a, 17b.
