PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair-setting agent composition having excellent set- retainability and good feeling and useful as a hair-dressing agent, etc., such as hair cream and hair mousse by including a specific cationic resin and a specific vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer. SOLUTION: The objective agent contains (A) one or more kinds of cationic resins produced by copolymerizing 50-90 wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula I (R1 is H or the like; R2 is a 1-4C alkylene; R3 and R4 are each a 1-4C alkyl; X is O or the like), 10-50 wt.% of a polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula II (R5 is H or the like; R6 is a 12-24C alkyl) and 0-25 wt.% of other polymerizable monomer copolymerizable with the above monomers and modifying the produced copolymer with a cationizing agent of formula: YE (Y is bromine or the like; E is a 1-12C alkyl or the like) and (B) a vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinylpyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymerizing ratio (molar ratio) of 7/3 to 3/7.
