<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic leveling device actuated always appropriately by partially incorporating a dynamic automatic leveling element into static automatic leveling. SOLUTION: This automatic leveling device is provided with a headlight with its optical axis L vertically tilted to a vehicle body by driving of an actuator 10, a control unit 16 for controlling driving of the actuator 10, a vehicle speed detecting means 12 for detecting the speed of a vehicle, and a pitch angle detecting means 14 for detecting the pitch angle of the vehicle. The control unit 16 controls driving of the actuator 10 on the basis of a pitch angle during the stop of the vehicle. In the case of the pitch angle detecting means 14 detecting a pitch angle during stable travel the control unit 16 controls driving of the actuator 10, taking account of the pitch angle during stable travel, which results in avoiding control based on a pitch angle during the stop of the vehicle on a slope or during the unnatural stop of the vehicle on a curb.</p> |
