PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin having an alternatively arranged structure of a hard segment/a soft segment/a hard segment, and capable of providing an electrocoating membrane excellent in flexibility, adhesion and corrosion resistance, and having good impact resistance, chipping resistancs and durability. SOLUTION: The subject resin has a structure of the formula [R1 is a 1-8C hydrocarbon; R2 is a 2-5C alkylene; A is a residue obtained by removing isocyanate groups from diisocyanate prepolymer obtained from a 4-20C polyisocyanate and a polyol having 400-4,000 number average molecular weight, and having 600-30,000 molecular weight; X is a residue after removing hydroxy group from a low molecular monoalcohol having <=400 molecular weight; Y is a residue after removing active hydrogens from a primary amine-containing active hydrogen compound having <=500 molecular weight; (p) is 1-20]. The composition preferably comprises 50-95 wt.% resin of the formula as an essential component, and 5-50 wt.% blocked polyisocyanate in an amount capable of hardening the resin as a hardening material component.
