PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator pedal device for a vehicle capable of providing ideal pedaling force characteristic with simple structure and low-cost constitution. SOLUTION: In this accelerator pedal device for a vehicle, a pedal arm 4 is pivotally supported to a mounting bracket 1 through a pedal pivot 2, and the pedal arm 4 is constantly energized to the return side by the energizing force of a return spring 3 so that the pedal arm 4 is rotatory-displaced in a pedaling direction against the energizing force of the return spring 3 in pedaling the pedal arm 4. Frictional resistance generating mechanism X1(-X6) for constantly generating specified frictional resistance in the oscillating face direction of the pedal arm 4 in association with the oscillating displacement of the pedal arm 4 is provided in a position suitably spaced in the oscillating face direction from the position of the pedal pivot 2 in the pedal arm 4, and frictional resistance generated by the frictional resistance generating mechanism X1(-X6) is applied to the pedal arm 4 as the resistance moment value to the distance from the pedal pivot 2 so as to impart specified hysteresis to pedaling force between the pedaling time and pedal return time.
