PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction nozzle body wherein a slide engaging member can be easily mounted and a vacuum cleaner wherein the suction nozzle body is used. SOLUTION: There are provided a body case 10 consisting of a lower case 12 wherein a suction port 12b is formed in a bottom wall 12a and an upper case 13 which is mounted on the case 12 from above, and a cover 11 to cover the case 12 and the upper part of the case 13, while a slide engaging member 37 which slides to detachably engage an engaging protrusion 42 with a cover-side engaging part 36 is provided. In this case, a supporting part A is provided to slidably support the member 37 on the rear wall 12c of the case 12, while allowing the member 37 to be released upwardly. And by mounting the case 13 on the case 12, the member 37 can be prevented from slipping out upwardly.
