摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a sterilization of fishes and/or the like by filling a space holding the fishes and/or the like with a clean, low-temperature combustion gas produced under specific conditions so as to restrain the meat quality from deterioration with time and prevent matter affecting human body from adhering to and being impregnated into the fishes and/or the like. SOLUTION: This sterilization of fishes and/or meats is performed as follows, a combustion gas G produced by completely burning charcoal C and consisting mainly of CO2 is cooled and filtered into a clean, low-temperature combustion gas G1, a space holding fishes and/or meats at appropriate temperatures is then filled with the above gas G1. This sterilization is performed pref. using a sterilizing system 1 made up of a charcoal combustor 2, a cooling device 8 and a filtering device 9 for a combustion gas G discharged from the combustor 2 and consisting mainly of CO2, and a sterilizer 4 intended for holding fish and/or meat therein and to be filled with the clean, low-temperature combustion gas G1 resulted from passing the gas G through the cooling device 8 and the filtering device 9.
