摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the direction of a cop easily, rapidly and positively even in the case of using other spinning cops of various sizes or diameters by comparing each detection signal generated from an optical detecting means, with the reference value. SOLUTION: In the case of spinning cop 1 abutting on a stopper 5, light of line sensors 8, 9 emitted from light emission diodes 10, 11 is damped by the spinning cop 1 existing in between. The line sensors 8, 9 generate corresponding detection signals a, b which depend on the beam intensity of the line sensors and the number of the damped elements. The detection signals a, b are supplied to an electronic evaluation circuit 7, where the light shielding degree ratio of two line sensors 8, 9 is evaluated, and the direction of the spinning cop 1 in a rotating device 6 is univocally detected by the ratio of the detection signals a, b or the luminance value indicated by it.
