COMPOSITE PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE MICROSPHERE

PURPOSE: Composite pressure sensitive adhesive micro spheres comprising two or more water insoluble polymers are provided which can be prepared by free radical suspension polymerization. CONSTITUTION: Composite pressure sensitive adhesive micro spheres are described comprising two or more water insoluble polymers that are mixed wholly within the boundaries of polymeric micro spheres. The range of monomers and polymers are chosen to tailor the properties of the composite pressure sensitive adhesive micro spheres for specific performance and/or application requirements. Any polymer that can be dissolved into a solvent monomer or mixture of solvent monomers can be used to prepare the composite pressure sensitive adhesive micro spheres. Pressure sensitive adhesive micro spheres according to this process can be prepared using free radical suspension polymerization.
