PURPOSE: A method of controlling an amplitude and a phase of an output signal, an automatic gain and a phase controller, and a feed forward amplifier is provided to reduce a distortion of a linear amplifier by using a feed forward. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling a phase and an amplitude of an output signal S comprises the steps of: dividing the output signal S(out) to an output signal S(a) and an output signal S(b); saturating the output signal to generate the saturated output signal S(a); controlling a phase and an amplitude of the output signal S(b) to generate the controlled output signal S(b); inputting the controlled output signal S(b) to a log detector to generate a first signal S(log); mixing the saturated output signal S(a) and the saturated and controlled output signal S(b) to generate a first mixed signal; inputting a saturated output signal S(in) to the log detector to generate a second signal S(log); mixing the saturated output signal S(b) and the input signal S(in) to generate a second mixed signal; determining a phase difference between the output signal S(b) and the input signal S(in); and determining an amplitude of between the output signal S(b) and the input signal S(in).
