PREPARATION METHOD OF ACRYLIC ACID

PURPOSE: A preparation method of acrylic acid by the catalytic vapor phase oxidation of acrolein or acrolein-containing gases is provided which can manufacture in high yield at a relatively low cost of production for a long period. CONSTITUTION: A method is disclosed for making acrylic acid which comprises:(a)the catalytic vapor phase oxidation of acrolein or acrolein-containing gas and (b)the control of the reaction to satisfy the following equation(1) and (2); 2 degree. T0-T1 is from 1 to 15°C(1), T2 is greater than T1 in which T1 represents the temperature of acrolein or acrolein-containing gases on the introducing surface of a catalytic layer, T2 represents the temperature at the emitting part of the catalytic layer.
