TWO-STEP PROCESS FOR ALKYLATION OF BENZENE TO FORM LINEAR ALKYLBENZENES

PURPOSE: A method for contacting a benzene and an olefin having 5 ¯ 30 carbon atoms in the presence of a mordenite containing fluorine and for contacting in the presence of a clay containing the fluorine is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a two step alkylation process for the preparation of monoalkylated benzene, benzene and an olefin with 5 to 30 carbon atoms are contacted first in presence of a fluorine-containing mordenite and then in presence of a fluorine-containing clay.
