Even if the memory capacity is limited, printing data representing images arranged in the horizontal scanning direction, such as index printing data, can be processed efficiently, and the throughput is high. An image data processing section accesses original image data including data representing partial images of the images printed in one horizontal scanning and processes the original image data in a predetermined way to create bit image data. An image data control section stores the image data in a primary buffer temporarily, thereafter reads necessary part of the image data from the primary buffer for every band, copies the necessary part to a band (secondary) buffer, and sends the necessary part to a printing section to print it. Therefore it is unnecessary to access the original image data for every partial image and to subject it to a predetermined processing, and consequently the printing is efficient.
|
