SWIVEL CONNECTOR

A swivel connector is disclosed in two embodiments. A coupling (27) which is typically mated with a fire hose is affixed to an insert (2). The coupling (27) and insert (2) are rotatable with respect to an adaptor (1). The adaptor (1) is fixed to a fire hydrant or fire truck and is not moveable. Ball bearings (5, 6) permit rotation of the coupling (27) and insert (2) with respect to the adaptor (1) when pressure is applied to a piston (9) which interlocks the coupling (27) and insert (2) with the adaptor (1).
