A golf muscle weight traning apparatus for attachment to the shaft (1) of golf club or other sports implement includes a weight carrier (2) having an elongated weight supporting portion (2), a weight, and a claim mechanism (3). The clamp mechanism (3) cooperates with the weight carrier (2) to clamp the weight carrier (2) to the shaft (1) with the axis of the weight supporting portion (2) extending substantially perpendicular to a plane extending through the axis of the shaft (1), and being offset laterally with respect to the axis of th golf club. The weight supporting portion (2) supports a weight mass with the weight mass extending in overlying relation with the head (1a) of the golf club. In another embodiment, the axis of the weight mass extends perpendicular to the axis of th golf club shaft (1). One or more extension weights (5) can be coupled to the weight carrier (2) to increase the weight mass of the weight training apparatus. |
