[Also in Division B8] In a mineral-mining installation the carrying capacity of the scraper chain conveyer thereof is increased and the guiding of a mineral-mining machine therealong improved by clamping to the face side of the conveyer a plate structure which extends below the side of the conveyer to a much greater extent than it extends above said side. This construction allows of the raising of the conveyer trough clear of the floor at a seam face, the use of scrapar flights of greater depth than the upper and lower channels of the trough, and the engagement of the cutting machine with the upper edge surface of the plate structure and not the troughing so that when wear or damage occur to this upper surface the plate structure can easily be replaced. The flanges of the preferably USection plate structure extend partly over the inturned upper and lower flanges of the trough side. |
