PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber-based pressure sensitive adhesive which has an excellent self-adhesion characteristic and can be readily manufactured with the reduction in energy and time owing to the substantial omission of a peptizing step. SOLUTION: This rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive comprises, as its main rubber component, natural rubber mainly composed of fine particles contained in a starting natural rubber latex and having a particle size of 1μm or below. Another adhesive comprises, as the main rubber component, a linear natural rubber polymer contained in the starting natural rubber latex. Further, the adhesive may comprise, as the main rubber component, natural rubber contained in the starting natural rubber latex and having a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 to 1,000,000. Still another adhesive may comprise, as the main rubber component, natural rubber contained in a serum obtained by centrifugal separation of the starting natural rubber latex. The adhesives may further comprise a tackifier resin.
