PURPOSE:To manufacture a light-weight vacuum cast molded piece which contains a reinforcing material by a method wherein the reinforcing material is provided inside and on an outer peripheral face of a foamed core material made by using a secondary casting mold, it is fitted into a first casting mold and clamped, and the core material is wrapped in with a thermosetting resin by the vacuum casting method. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of notches 5d are provided in a secondary casting mold 5b at a recessed peripheral edge. Protrusions 8b of a reinforcing material 8 such as a metal plate are fitted into the notches 5d of the lower mold 5b so as to stretch the reinforcing material 8 in the recess. It is clamped together with an upper mold 5a, a two-liquid foamed core material is cast, cured, and released so as to produce a foamed core material 6 which contains the reinforcing material. A reinforcing material 9 is wound on the foamed core material 6 avoiding penetrating pores 6a and positioning protrusions 6b, which is fixed by an adhesive, positioned in a first casting mold 2 for fitting, and clamped. By using the first casting mold 2, a thermosetting resin is cast into a clearance between the foamed core material 6 and the inner peripheral face of the first casting mold 2 by the vacuum casting method, cured, and released, so that a light vacuum casting molded piece having a high strength can be manufactured. |
