PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly move an article to be sold the next time to the neighborhood of the gate of an article rack, and to line up the articles to be sold the next time of respective racks regardlessly of the thickness of the article in a back-and-forth direction. SOLUTION: This merchandise discharging device is provided with a driving mechanism 64, a gate 25 provided at front edge part of an article rack 18 for opening and closing a discharge port 18a at the time of discharging the article by the driving mechanism 64, and a discharging mechanism 19 to be driven by the driving mechanism 64 for discharging the article S positioned at the mostfront part and transferring the article S to a bucket 31 by moving forward the whole article S in the article rack 18 in a state that the ejection port 18a is opened, and for closing the discharge port 18a and then moving forward the whole article S by prescribed amounts so that the front face of the article S to be sold the next time can be positioned in the neighborhood of the gate 25.
