PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric blanket combining comfortable warmth and safety, by energizing a heating means so as to attain a temperature set up based on detected temperature information, and controlling an energization rate defined by a current turn-off cycle and current off time previously determined by setting the use of the electric blanket. SOLUTION: A one-line type heater wire is used having a heating means 1 and a temperature detecting means 2 arranged on a same line. A body 3 of an electric blanket is made up by disposing the one-line type heater wire over the whole area of the blanket. A temperature setting means 4 sets up a temperature of the heating means 1. A control means 5 achieves the temperature set up by the temperature setting means 4 by controlling the energization of the heating means 1 according to temperature information detected by the temperature detecting means 2. A setting means 6 sets up whether the blanket is used as a wrap blanket or as a laid blanket. A duty factor control means 7 turns off the energization of the heating means 1 so as to obtain the duty factor defined by a current turn-off cycle and current off time and previously determined by the setting of the setting means 6.
