PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processor capable of outputting image data so that the longitudinal direction of an image area indicated by image data is lined up with the directional direction of a prescribed recording area by rotating an image along the longitudinal direction when it is judged that the longitudinal direction of an area occupied by the image is not lined up with the longitudinal direction of a recording area. SOLUTION: The horizontal dimension (a) and vertical dimension (b) of an image area are calculated, and it is judged whether or not the horizontal dimension (a) and the vertical dimension (b) are not the same (300). When it is judged that the horizontal dimension (a) and vertical dimension (b) of the image area are not the same, whether or not the horizontal dimension (a) of the image area is larger than the vertical dimension (b) is judged (302). When it is judged that the horizontal dimension (a) is larger than the vertical dimension (b), whether or not the horizontal dimension (x) of a recording area is larger than the vertical dimension (y) is judged (304). Then, when it is judged that the horizontal dimension (x) is smaller than the vertical dimension (y), it is judged that the longitudinal direction of the image area is not lined up with the longitudinal direction of the recording area, and a rotation processing is executed (310), and the judgment processing is completed.
