摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build an inexpensive and customized communication and broadcasting system with two pieces of fiber pairs which is capable of arbitrarily switching one point to another point with a two-core batch by constituting two sets of 1×n optical switches arranged in parallel in such a manner that the optical paths of both are synchronously selected. SOLUTION: Two-core constitution is formed by combining two sets of the 1×n waveguide switches within the same substrate in parallel. The optical path switching of optical signal transmission and reception is executed by using a pigtail type module of the 1×2 thermooptical twin switching. The three points of users 1 to 3 are connected via the 1×2 thermooptical twin switch module. The user 1 and the user 2 are able to make information exchange without having any changes at all from point-to-point when the heaters A to C of the twin switches are synchronously lighted. The user 1 and the user 3 are able to make information exchange without having any changes at all from point-to- point when the twin switches are changed over (B and D are synchronously lighted). |
