PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantaneously stop the printing of printing data when a user requests it even on the way of transmitting the printing data to a printer. SOLUTION: In a host computer 21 for sending printing data to a printer 23, a language monitor 31 for grasping printing data in each command and successively sending the data to the printer 23 is arranged on the downstream of a printing spooler 27 for spooling printing data prepared by a printer driver 25 and sending the spooled data. The driver 25 has an emergency stop button 37 on a user interface screen, and when the button 37 is clicked by a mouse, sends an emergency stop instruction 39 to the monitor 31 jumping the spooler 27. The monitor 31 stops the sending of a printing command to the printer 23 immediately after receiving the instruction 39, sends a printing stop instruction to the printer 23 and scraps succeeding printing data outputted from the spooler 27. At the time of receiving the printing stop instruction, the printer 23 stops printing and scraps printing data left in the printer 23.
